
Sam Maus, Director of Construction
With more than 40 years of construction and construction management
experience Mr. Maus has built over 10,000 multifamily units throughout
California for some of the largest builders in the country. His expertise
also encompasses single-family tract homes, office buildings and shopping
centers. Mr. Maus was educated at the University of Southern California.
Additionally, Mr. Maus maintains an active California Contracting license.
Jim Weaver, Director of Asset Management
Mr. Weaver has spent over 15 years in the apartment management business
and is experienced in the management of virtually all types of apartment
communities with special expertise managing very large, conventional
properties. His proven high-performance track record has delivered a
consistent increase in asset value and NOI for the apartment communities
he has overseen. Mr. Weaver graduated with honors from the University
of Houston with a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree and holds a Master
of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree. Additionally, Mr. Weaver
maintains an active California Real Estate Broker license.
William D. Hiestand, Jr., Director of Acquisitions
Mr. Hiestand has over 18 years of real estate development experience
as an executive with some of California’s largest real estate development
companies. He has worked on projects located throughout California, Nevada
and overseas. His career encompasses a wide variety of expertise in the real
estate development industry and has been directly involved in the development
and acquisition of over 4,000 residential units valued in excess of $1 billion.
Mr. Hiestand’s years of experience in acquisitions, financial structures, project
feasibility, project entitlements, forward planning, site development, project
management, construction management, operations, marketing and sales, represents
a unique and comprehensive vision to each project. Mr. Hiestand graduated from
the University of Southern California and holds an active California Real Estate
Broker License.
Kirsten Surprenant, Chief Financial Officer
Ms. Surprenant has been in the property management business for over
15 years, and has extensive experience in managing finances for multi-family
and commercial development throughout California. She has managed the
day-to-day accounting for over 21,000 units, as well as reviewed and
analyzed company financials and performed other due diligence necessary
to successfully close significant real estate transactions, including
the raising of equity for Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs). Ms.
Surprenant graduated from Santa Clara University with a Bachelor of
Science (B.S.) degree. Additionally, Ms. Surprenant holds a Master of
Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree from Pepperdine University.
